Best Autocorrect Extensions for Chrome in 2026

if you are anything like me and addicted to mobile’s autocorrect then you might be looking for something similar but for your laptop bcz you can't spell the word saparate, right?

i tried at least 5 different extensions to see which one actually autocorrects your typos, here are the best:

1. KeyCorrect

it’s a browser extension that automatically fixes your misspelled words as you type on any website like google doc, notion, chatGPT, claude etc. etc, it's pretty similar to how mobile’s autocorrect works, like when you type a misspelled word and hit the space key, something similar, you can also create text snippets to save time.

Pros:

  • offline and private
  • doesn't track anything
  • respect your privacy
  • corrections are pretty good

Cons:

  • free plan sucks
  • basically i am promoting it here :)

2. Grammarly

it’s mostly a grammar checker but they also have autocorrect, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't because most likely they send your words on their servers for autocorrection logic and then the server returns the correct word and if your internet is slow or consumed by other apps, then it will just not work, but other than that the autocorrections are pretty good.

Pros:

  • good free tier
  • corrections are pretty accurate
  • has support for many different languages

Cons:

  • it’s very hard to say that they don't track you

3. FluentTyper

Technically it’s not an autocorrect bcz it doesn't fix anything automatically, instead it shows you a list of words/suggestions while you are typing, similar to an auto-complete system in gboard, like this:

Pros:

  • completely free
  • open source
  • secure because runs locally

Cons:

  • doesn’t fix typos automatically

4. QuillBot:

again very similar to grammarly but it does not autocorrect anything, it’s just a graaaaaaamar checker, i don’t even know why i am mentioning it (maybe bcz it shows up in the search)

Pros:

  • i have no idea

Cons:

  • don’t even have autocorrect

Bottom Line

i tried many others for example, LanguageTool (which is open-source) but none of them have autocorrect functionality, instead they are more like grammar checkers, they check spellings but will not automatically correct anything, so yeah

that was it,

i will probably go with KeyCorrect, bcz i literally made it :)
